Adobe embeds Alfresco in Adobe LiveCycle ES
There’s lots of new opportunities for developers now Adobe has integrated Alfresco into the LiveCycle Enterprise Suite:
Alfresco Software today announced a new technology partnership with Adobe Systems Incorporated to provide additional content services capabilities to Adobe® LiveCycle™ Enterprise Suite (ES). Under the terms of the agreement, Adobe will embed the Alfresco Enterprise Content Management (ECM) software into Adobe LiveCycle ES. The relationship represents a shared vision for a new class of applications that utilize flexible, open source and Web 2.0 standards that deliver rich and engaging enterprise experiences.
Adobe has integrated a big part of the Alfresco stack – which delivers tons of features on it’s own – and improved things big time, including more platform support and obviously deep integration with a ton of LiveCycle services.
LiveCycle ES Update 1 introduces LiveCycle Content Services ES, a fully integrated set of content services, ranging from an enterprise content repository to social collaboration tools such as enterprise forums. LiveCycle Content Services ES is now part of the base LiveCycle ES platform providing features such as check-in/check-out, versioning, auditing, archiving/retention and access rights management
